Are you a fan of crop pant outfits? Are you somewhat unsure how to style them? When I see crop pants in the stores or online, I know Spring and Summer are truly here! I love the summery feel of crop pants, especially in fun prints like those at Talbots. In this post, let me show you six different ways to style crop pants.
Crop pants are typically styled as casual outfits, and would certainly be work appropriate for casual Fridays. But this first of the crop pant outfits is a bit more dressy in that I paired the pants with a white linen blazer. and could therefore go to work or a luncheon with friends.
Here’s a quick video of these six looks:

In this post...
Outfit #1 of the Crop Pant Outfits

In this first crop pants outfit, I am wearing a darling, substantial cotton tank under a white linen blazer. This blazer is a terrific value (here is a blog about it), and I LOVE it with these pants! The pants are so colorful, but, by wearing them with all white on the top half of my outfit, the color is somewhat subdued.

I added nude suede block heel sandals for a bit more polish.
Outfit #2 of the Crop Pant Outfits
Here I changed out the white blazer for a more casual, maybe casual Friday look by wearing a black jean jacket (old, similar, here) over the white tank. I added the Oakley sunglasses and switched to nude, square-toed, flat sandals (similar, here).

Again, I am wearing the silver necklace and diamond earrings, but this time, I switched to a collection of very reasonable silver beaded bracelets.

Here is the flat lay of outfit #2, but with white sneakers instead of sandals.
Outfit #3 of the Crop Pant Outfits
Here, I wore a Talbots Perfect White Shirt, with a darling bright pink sweatshirt with the crop pants. Obviously, this is color at its peak! I LOVE color, and I know not all of you do. So as you can see in outfits #1,5, and 6, I downplayed the colorful pants by pairing them with more neutral items for the color-reluctant shopper.

In the above flat lay, there is a GREAT pink gingham scarf that I JUST LOVE! I had to wait until it was back in stock to get it. It will be on my Instagram this week, so PLEASE FOLLOW ME ON INSTAGRAM (@drjuliemarshall).
Outfit #4 of the Crop Pant Outfits
Here is a great Spring look where I layered a medium wash jean jacket with a white rolled sleeve tee and cropped pants. For this perfect for running errands or brunch with friends look, I added a red, pink, and gray statement necklace (similar, here), as well as pink-trimmed white sneakers (similar, here), and a small pink crossbody bag.

Here’s the flat lay of Outfit #4.

Outfit #5 of the Crop Pant Outfits
Here I wore the same necklace as in outfit #4, but I changed to the Perfect White Shirt (which I LOVE because it always looks good and crisp!). This time, I added a linen and leather belt from J McLaughlin as well as a wicker bag from the same merchant. J McLaughlin is a small store that carries a small, but classic line of items each season. I especially love their accessories.

Outfit #6 of the Crop Pant Outfits
This was such a fun outfit. Last week, one of my planned items for my Friday video series hadn’t arrived as scheduled via the mail. So, I headed over to the Palm Desert Talbots store to pick up my package in person. While there, I asked my wonderful sales associate, Blake, to snap my photo in my cute crop pants and chambray shirt. He happily complied with my request!

And the red Talbots bag coordinated beautifully with my colorful red, pink and orange pants. The chambray shirt is a lovely neutral that looks great with everything. Same bag and belt as outfit #5, but this time, I popped on some rattan earrings to coordinate with my bag! My watch is gold as is my bracelet (similar, here). Fun, don’t you agree?

Well lovely readers, have I convinced you to get these colorful crop pants? Let me know in the comments below if you like all these colors? Or do you prefer the more subdued variations? Either way, please let me know! I would love to connect with you.

Dr. Julie

Wow! You look GREAT in those colors! I just got my white J. Crew Factory blazer yesterday and it is fabulous! Usually wear a 4 petite in tops but got a size 6 like you recommended and it fits beautifully. Thank-you for the rec!

PS: Any recs for good quality white t shirts?
I love the rolled sleeve Banana Republic Outlet white tee. Here’s the link: https://rstyle.me/+gXR2ekwpMWGpJCQoVfj_VQ
Or this classic one: https://rstyle.me/+w75GHWXKGm1ai7REQ0s8WA.
Mol,
You should also get this terrific tank. It washes like a dream, is not at all sheer, and has great straps for a tank, with no bra show: https://rstyle.me/+Gr9RNNYXzVnhuMEtyT6Z1w
The Palm Desert Talbots is the best! I’ve been a loyal Talbots shopper for more years than I’d like to admit and the sales associates at this location are top notch. Your outfit is great! Thanks for the inspiration! I prefer a more subtle pattern or even a solid. Living full time in the SoCal desert I am drawn to the many easy wear dresses Talbots carries. I’ve purchased 4 of them this month!
Linda L,
The Talbots at Palm Desert has a terrific manager, Sherry and her wonderful son Blake is a sales associate who is always eager to help. Glad you have had luck with the Talbot dresses. Thanks for commenting!
Being a “woman of size” I tend to stay with solids or subdued patterns. You’re petite and look fabulous!
Joanie, I hear you. Maybe wear the color in the form of the fabulous gingham scarf in the post or the fun statement earrings. Thanks for commenting!
