Several years ago I was with my friend Colleen on a trip to Charleston. We were just wandering from store to store when we ended up in the Gretchen Scott store. I was immediately enchanted by the vibrant and colorful prints throughout. I decided to try on this grey paisley dress and knew I had success!
I loved the fit first and foremost and found it to be flattering. It skimmed my waist in a comfortable, yet attractive manner. The coolest feature is the collar. It has a neat shape in that it stands up and stays up if you want or it can lay flat. I wear it in the “up” position and it frames my face in a pretty, soft way.
I accessorized with fun silvery filigree earrings (old) that reminded me of the paisley pattern in the dress. I wore a simple pearl bracelet, a thin white gold diamond bangle and my trusty stainless Ebel watch (all gifts over the years from Mr. G.Q.). My purse is a J.McLauglin pebble leather clutch with a tortoise shell clasp from several seasons ago.
Because it gets cool at night I added a black wool pashmina. I wore nude Stuart Weitzman sandals.
Gretchen Scott clothing is available on-line and in various travel oriented boutiques. Her vibrant colored patterns remind me of Lilly Pullitzer clothing but Gretchen’s fabrics are much more packable and user friendly. All the items I have of Gretchen Scott’s are a washable knit. I wash them on cool and hang to dry. No need to iron, just wash and wear! I love this brand of clothing so much! The dresses wear like iron. And best of all her motto “Laugh More, Gripe Less, Say Yes, Order Dessert, Love Life” is literally stitched into all of her clothes! I mean this is a motto that perfectly aligns with my blog of having a “fun and full life”! Check out Gretchen Scott.com. You will be delighted!
Here’s another post on a different dress by Gretchen Scott.
