Why a Sequined Top is a Holiday Essential

Sequined tops or other sparkly accessories are a holiday wardrobe essential for several reasons. First of all, they are just plain fun! They are also festive, and much like a Christmas wreath on your front door, wearing a sequined top says that you are ready to celebrate! In addition, most sequined items are terrific basics that can be worn repeatedly from year to year.

I love to pull out several sequined items every December, such as my sequined tanks, tops, black velvet blazer, and jeans. All these are winners in my book and are considered perfect for my holiday capsule wardrobe. See the items below for the ideal items that are currently available.

Isn’t this a cute holiday look? I paired a silver sparkly top with a black tweed boucle or lady jacket. Then, I added pink pants. You could always wear black trousers if that’s too much for you. I wore black patent leather heels that could be switched out with silver ones. Lastly, my clutch is silver to continue the glittery look.

I am such a fan of velvet during the holidays. I love it with denim, as I enjoy the juxtaposition of the dressy top and blazer with the more casual denim bottom. Again, I wore elegant black d’Orsay pumps, and the black color bookends nicely with the black jacket, making for a cohesive look. (Another option would be to make a velvet “suit” by wearing black velvet pants with the jacket). I finished the outfit with the same silver clutch as the first outfit.
