My Review of 2 Tuckernuck Dresses (AND They're ON SALE THIS WEEKEND!)

Have you ever heard of Tuckernuck dresses?

I follow several fashion bloggers who all feature Tuckernuck dresses on their sites. They all rave about them.

So, I ordered several of these dresses to see what all the fuss was about.

Guess what? I ordered two Tuckernuck dresses called “The Jackie” (after Jackie Kennedy) and was delighted with my purchases.

I originally ordered the two dresses (in different colors) for my daughter-in-law Rachel’s baby shower this past fall. I knew she was having a girl, and she was on board with me (and, in fact, many of the guests) wearing pink. I wanted options and had planned on returning the cream one. But then, I fell in love—with both! Here’s my review:

Tuckernuck Dresses: The Jackie

Their most popular Tuckernuck dress is the Jackie, inspired by Jackie Kennedy’s classic old-money style. I ordered the hot pink short-sleeved dress(not currently available, but likely to be available in the spring) and the cream. The dress is currently available in 12 colors and patterns. (Here, a pretty holiday alternative is the red one. The long-sleeved version of the hot pink dress is available here. The light pink short-sleeved version is deeply discounted here.

The dress is made of lovely textured tweed fabric and has gorgeous braided trim along the neckline and waistline. There are also beautiful vintage-inspired gold buttons at the waistline pockets. The cream dress is incredibly flattering because the braided trim is black. The touches of black at the waistline are remarkably slimming in that they create a delightful waist definition.

The dress has a hidden zipper in the back and comes in short and long sleeves. It is fully lined and dry-cleanable. The silhouette is a shift, but it wears effortlessly. The dress fabric is substantial, and the short-sleeve style was comfortably warm on a breezy fall day. The dress can be worn to work, showering, luncheons, or holiday parties. It is an iconic piece that I am delighted to own. I wore a size small and am usually a size 6 or 8 in a dress.

In the first look (that I wore to the shower), I wore the cream Jackie dress with black patent leather pumps, a beautiful black pebbled leather handbag, a gold watch and bangle, and diamond stud earrings. The black shoes and bag emphasized the black trim on the dress. I felt so classy in this dress.

In the second look, I wore black ballet flats instead of heels and repeated the other accessories from the first outfit. I tend towards heels when I wear a dress, but this is an excellent choice for those who prefer flats with Tuckernuck dresses..

I wore a sling-back cream linen flat in the third outfit with a bow on the strap. This was a perfect option because the light color of the shoe extended my leg line and looked great with the dress.

The Tuckernuck dresses are such classic items, and I think they are best accessorized with simple, elegant accessories. Nude pumps are the perfect choice with the pink Jackie dress. I chose these Naturalizer nude leather pumps and a pink bag (last season) from Avara. I added diamond stud earrings, a gold watch, and a gold bangle for jewelry.
