Are you in the market for casual wear for work ideas this Spring?
And would you like them to be affordable?
Would you like the pieces to be versatile and cute enough to wear after work or on the weekend?
I recently ordered this terrific haul from J Crew Factory. There are some wonderful pieces and I thought sharing the looks throughout this week would be fun. I also rounded up all of my favorites from J Crew Factory so you can snatch up your favorites. They are at the end of the post and each image is clickable. That means you can click on it and you will be taken right to the exact item.
Affordable Casual Wear for Work Ideas, Day 1, Look #1
| Striped Lady Sweater | Dark Wash Jeans | Loafers | Bag | Earrings |
In this photo, I am wearing the absolutely CUTEST striped, cotton lady jacket cardigan sweater. That is exactly what it is called. It is such a wonderful item to add to your spring wardrobe. It is 100% cotton and mid-weight. The buttons are so pretty and the size small fits me perfectly. (I am 5’4″ with a 36C chest; the sweater lays beautifully and doesn’t pull across the bust.)
My handbag is from J McLaughlin from last season. This is this year’s model. I love the classic combination of wicker and the wooden handle. J McLaughlin’s bags are THE BEST! Here is another, more affordable bag from J Crew Factory that I also love.

I am wearing these very comfortable jeans. I love the look of the dark wash denim with the navy and white cardigan as I think it looks crisp and I think I look taller than in the white denim below. My loafers are by Sam Edelman (similar, here). Another terrific option is these mules from J Crew Factory.
If you can wear jeans to work, this outfit is terrific. If on the other hand, jeans are not allowed, consider these pants, or these, as a great alternative.

Affordable Casual Wear for Work Ideas, Day 1, Look #2
| Striped Lady Sweater | White Jeans | Loafers | Bag | Earrings |
For this second look, I swapped out the dark denim for white jeans. Everything else is the same. This look is more nautical to my eye and would readily take you to a warm weather event on the weekend,

This darling lady jacket could also be worn with a slip skirt like this, or with basic chinos. It’s a lovely piece and it can be worn in so many ways. I am so glad I purchased it.

Very cute Julie! I love J McLaughlin, but I prefer the older version of the bag. It is such a classic.
Thank heavens I’m retired but if I were to choose an outfit to head to work it’d be the darker of the two. J. Crew always has looks that can be mixed and matched.
