Here in Chicago we’ve been lucky this summer with respect to the weather. It’s been unusually cool all spring and summer. So we’ve never gotten used to our usual hot spells this year. Well today it reached 87 and it felt HOT!
So I broke out this cute lime green gingham sundress (Tulip is the brand) with pockets and a bit of center tucks. I added a neat blue and green scarf tied in a simple knot. If I needed to be in air conditioning I would have either added a jean jacket or retied the big scarf as a shawl.
The foulard patterned scarf is from Lands End. It’s an oldie but goodie and the deep blue and green really made the otherwise comfy but a bit washed out dress work, don’t you agree? I also wore silver and green-blue earrings that were from a friend.
For bracelets I wore multiple light weight silver beaded bracelets (Evereve) with my stainless steel watch. My sandals were nude Stuart Weitzman block heeled sandals.
As you can see the scarf is a big square. I folded in half into a triangle and tied it in a simple knot in front. I love scarves because they really complete many of my outfits. (I only tie easy knots because the complex knots are too hard to remember!) In this case the deeper blue and green colors add a hint of fall to an otherwise summery dress.
Now if the warm weather continues that gorgeous yellow goldenrod plant behind me will be the real show stopper. Stay tuned for my fall blooming garden🍁🍂🎃!
