There was a time in the not too recent past when it was a definite “no no” to wear denim with more denim. Thankfully that is no longer true. This weekend I went to lunch with one of my daughters for her birthday shopping and I wore denim with denim with chambray to top it off! I wore these darling vintage jeans by J.Crew, a chambray shirt from Madewell, and a white jean jacket from AG jeans. I wore a brown and cream calf skin cross body bag that I bought on a trip to Door County, Wisconsin and Stuart Weitzman block heeled laser cut nude sandals.
We lunched at The Hampton Social which is a trendy hot spot in Old Orchard Mall in Skokie, Illinois. The place is fun, upbeat and energetic in it’s vibe. It’s based on the nautical theme of the Hamptons.
Our server, Joe was terrific; very informative regarding the menu and helpful in entree selection. We both enjoyed delicious salads. The service was efficient and the staff was solicitous.
The restaurant has an ever changing list of rose wines (thus the “Rose all day” photo op spot) as well as a selection of oysters.
The restaurant was cute, the food was great and we ate quickly enough that we had several hours to shop before grand baby number two awoke! Score!
