This is How to Wear Black and White Gingham All Year! A few weeks ago I had a meeting downtown so I chose a black ensemble with a black and white gingham button-down blouse.

How to Wear Black and White Gingham All Year

It used to be that gingham was just for the summer but now it works well year round if used in men’s shirts and women’s blouses.

What make the difference seasonally is the weight of the materials you pair with the gingham.

Here I’m wearing a black boucle jacket from Lands End (old) with a pair of lightweight wool full legged trousers.

I paired a white pearl necklace from my mom with a chunkier white pearl bracelet.

I wore black suede booties and lastly a pair of silver marcasite heart earrings from my close friend who just past away this past month. Every time I put on these earrings I think of my good friend Pattie.

I hope you agree that gingham as a blouse fabric works all year long.  This blouse is several years old but last week I saw a similar one at Talbots.  Consider gingham to be a year-round fabric especially in shirts and blouses.
