Last night my oldest daughter and son-in-law took me to the Chicago Botanic Garden Lightscape Show. Because I have a December birthday I love experiences as gifts. And if they can center on holiday themes, all the better.
The Chicago Botanic Garden is actually located in Glencoe, Illinois which is about 20 miles north of downtown Chicago. Here are two photos of their neat gift shop. It’s open every day except Christmas and is a gorgeous facility all year round. This is the first year that they have held this impressive light show. The show originated in London and is making its US debut here at our own garden. We are so lucky!
This is a spectacular tunnel of light through which we all got a chance to walk. It’s GORGEOUS and dramatic!
This was a cool exhibit with many hanging strands of lights that of course continually change colors as you walk through them.
Baby Jack my darling grandson came along for the tour. Could he be any cuter with his retro Christmas tree 🎄 hat?!
This was a very cool Fire Garden with lots of burning flames throughout. The photo doesn’t do it justice. It was very exciting to view.
The walk is about a mile in length and there are volunteers and employees all along the path smiling and directing everyone along the way. The pace is leisurely and took us about one hour to complete. Everyone is walking the same way and photo opportunities abound! Christmas carols are piped in throughout the exhibit and there are even singing Christmas trees 🎄!!!
The colors are varied and vivid. The up lighting is dramatic and the trees all look beautiful.
This is a brilliant display over one of the lakes. It was an excellent use of the reflective aspect of the lights on the water at night.
The show was a delightful experience. Get tickets and see this beautiful event. You won’t be disappointed!
We had soooo much fun🌲🎄🌲🎄🌲!!!
