I have mentioned in several earlier blogs that I have five brothers and no sisters. My parents were so strict with me that I was never allowed to wear jeans in high school. In fact my college dorm mates bought me my first pair! So when I bought this cute pair of vintage jeans this season from J.Crew I heard definite criticism from my mom (even though she passed away several years ago). But buy them I did and Iā€™m really glad. I always thought vintage jeans didnā€™t look as sharp as dark wash denim. So I have always tended toward white jeans or dark skinnyā€™s as my go to bottom layer. When I saw this slightly distressed pair I put them with this silky paisley top from Alison Joy (purchased at Evereve) and I knew the combo worked perfectly. I finished off the look with an old hot pink embroidered cardigan, butterscotch colored soft leather wedge sandals from Cole Hahn and a pink patent leather belt from JCrew.

PS If you would like to see several other looks with me wearing a cardigan, check out this blog post.

Iā€™m delighted to have tried this new jean. I like that theyā€™re just a little distressed and the light wash makes the contrast between the denim and the ā€œmarkingsā€ a bit less bold than most of the vintage jeans out in the marketplace. Do you think this works on my 62 year old figure?
