I have been a bit remiss in my posting recently due to my crazy, busy life. I wanted to post this Jean Jacket and White Jeans outfit on the Fourth of July, but things have been so busy!!! My son who lives in New York came to visit for a week (with his darling girlfriend), the grandbabies were over for multiple events, the painters were painting. And the list goes on…

Jean Jacket and White Jeans

So here I am in a dark denim jean jacket (old, by AG), with white AG skinny jeans (also old, but great!). This style is called The Legging Ankle Super Skinny Ankle. I love AG denim because it wears like iron and isn’t at all see-through, which can definitely be a problem for white jeans.

The shoes are this season and are from Ann Taylor. I love the block heel, suede material, and the nude color. I especially like the waviness of the sandal strap over my toes as it’s very comfortable when walking. The purse is this season and it’s a great wicker bucket bag from J. McLauglin.

I think the rattan handles are very vintage-looking. The bracelets and necklace are old sadly, and from Evereve. I wear them both a lot because they’re lightweight and versatile. Lastly, my top is from Alison Joy (purchased at Evereve). I like tanks that have wide straps so my bra doesn’t show.

Whoops, I just looked at this photo and realized I switched my sandals to these very cute gold gladiators. I bought them last year at Talbot’s. They’re comfortable and stable on my narrow foot. I think both nude and gold sandals look great with white jeans as they blend in with my skin tone and make my leg look longer. Talbots makes nice shoes and they’re frequently available in lots of colors. And the price point is usually decent.

Because I have very sensitive feet, I tend to buy primarily Stuart Weitzman shoes (which tend to be pretty pricey). Fortunately, as a shopper, Stuart Weitzman’s shoes fit me well and are usually made of very soft leather. I take GREAT care of my shoes because that way I don’t have to break many shoes in on my tender tootsies. But unfortunately, as a blogger, lots of my posts contain shoes from previous seasons! That’s why I try and point out details that you can apply to your own shoe purchases.

My son, Jake took these photos before we went out to lunch. They’re on my deck and this one reminds me that I need to do a post on my flower boxes and gardens. Stay tuned. This photo also reminds me that even on the hottest days, I tend to take a denim jacket, a blazer, or a cardigan to handle unexpected shade, wind, or air conditioning.

Lots of women my age (63!!!) don’t feel comfortable wearing sleeveless tops. No worries. Just switch to a similar tee or tunic to achieve the same look. I love the look of wearing a longer top with a shorter cardigan or jacket on top. I think it’s interesting to layer our pieces in fun, unexpected ways. Plus we can readily camouflage any less desirable or fluffy areas with this tip.

Just in case you thought I was kidding, here are some of the grandkids sitting on the same deck, eating Glamma’s homemade popsicles. See, we really have been busy having FUN!

I hope you enjoyed my Jean Jacket and White Jeans outfit post! Check out this post on black and white gingham next!
