Tonight’s the first football game of the season and that would be reason to say it’s Fall, but what’s even more indicative is the fact that it’s cool enough to wear a jacket, over a sweater, over a tank. I love layers and yet it has to be cool enough to pull off these layers. Tonight I was comfortable with these pieces and I like how this summery sweater decided to become a transitional item.
The black and white linen blend sweater is from Banana this summer and I’m wearing it over a white JJill reversible tank. Then over that I’m wearing an old Sanctuary moto jacket from Evereve.
To make the outfit say Fall I’m wearing Lands End light gold suede booties with a block heel.
My necklace is a leather choker with silver and gold coins and beads (old), and my earrings are fun tortoiseshell ones that I recently purchased from JCrew Factory Outlet for a song! I love adding tortoiseshell to the black and white combination because I think it really makes the look become more polished and weighty. The motojacket is made of black knit as well as vegan leather which I find is always a great choice in early fall. If it were cooler I would have instead worn a heavier jacket, probably made entirely of leather or suede.
I like the layers, the textures, and the stripes. Now if Mr. GQ’s team wins, it’ll be a perfect night!!
