Introduction to Happy Valentine’s Day Outfits:
In this post, I will show you five different Happy Valentine’s Day outfits that will take you from a casual lunch with a friend, to the workplace, and all the way to a fancy date night out to celebrate this traditional day of love.
Outfit Number One (of the Happy Valetine’s Day Outfits): Casual Valentine’s Day Outfit

In this casual Valentine’s Day look, I paired Talbots red jeans with gray suede booties and a black puffer vest. My doctor’s bag is black pebbled leather and my red foulard scarf adds a little accent around my neck inside the white cotton shirt. Red jeans can be worn in quite a few ways. They are cute for all the red, white, and blue holidays, but they can also be worn in the cooler months by pairing them with tan, brown, gray, black booties.

We all know a puffer vest is a great piece in the fall, but I also wear them much of the winter indoors as a cozy layer. Out in California, vests of all kinds are popular, especially in the cool evenings.
Outfit Number Two (of the Happy Valetine’s Day Outfits): Workwear look for Valentine’s Day
This second outfit is a layered one where I took a darling tea-cup print shirt that I got from one of my daughters this past Christmas. I belted it with a long mustard brown belt. I used the long belt so that I could draw the excess length over the back of the belt and then tuck the tail in the loop I had created. The belt serves as a nice waist definition without being as tricky as tucking the shirt I
Many of my readers are reluctant to wear belts as they think it will draw too much attention to their waistline. I believe the opposite is true. If you belt the top loosely, it creates a nice accent and much of the waist area is covered by the third piece which is the cardigan.

I added a long gray cardigan over the gray trousers. I pulled out the burgundy cuffs as a styling trick as this makes the sweater look less overwhelming, and it helps hold the sweater cuffs up. My shoes are a nude D’orsay pump. Nude shoes really look interesting against the gray trousers, don’t you think? I also added a tan Coach doctor’s bag.

Above I am wearing a small burgundy beaded choker with a silver heart charm. This fills in my neckline just a bit and the heart works for the Valentine’s Day theme.

Outfit Number Three (of the Happy Valetine’s Day Outfits): A Fuchsia Sweater, Gray Trousers and Pearls
Isn’t this a cute combination? This pink v-neck sweater has lovely bows at the wrists and I had to wear my favorite pearl choker to add to the festive attire. My necklace is many years old, but I have managed to find a very similar TWO stranded necklace with very similar chunky pearls. I would purchase two sets of the two strands to accomplish this fun look.

Again I wore the same gray trousers and nude pumps. This look could go to a workplace, lunch with a friend, and to a date night dinner as it’s so versatile.

Outfit Number Four (of the Happy Valetine’s Day Outfits): Dressy Red dress for Valentine’s Day
Dresses for Valentine’s Day are probably the most frequently worn option. Please be sure to scroll all the way to the end of the post to see several red dresses that I found for you as my red sleeveless dress is several years old. I love the princess seams of this dress as they are universally flattering on most body types. I am short-waisted so dresses waists rarely hit me in the right spot. Thus I gravitate to dresses that don’t have a horizontal seam at the waistline.

I chose the same nude D’orsay pumps because nude pumps are very flattering to my legs when I wear no hose. They flatter because there is no break in the line from my knee to my toes. I added a white pearlized leather clutch with a sparkly clasp. The sparkles continue with my diamond stud earrings and my diamond bangle.
Outfit Number Five (of the Happy Valetine’s Day Outfits): Dressy Red Long-sleeve Dress for Valentine’s Day
Isn’t this a pretty long-sleeved red dress for Valentine’s Day? I loved the bow detail and I actually purchased it for the Christmas dinner that occurred this past Christmas mere hours after my youngest son, Jake proposed to his lovely fiancee, Rachel.
It’s always a good idea to shop your closet before shopping elsewhere. We tend to forget that many of us wear red, fuchsia, or burgundy during the Christmas holidays and many of those items might work for Valentine’s Day too.
I hope I have given you lots of Valentine’s Day ideas. I hope you have a very Happy Valentine’s Day and that you are able to share a valentine with someone you love.

XO,
Dr. Julie
