Happy New Year to all my wonderful readers! I’ve been at this fun and full life blogging adventure for the past seven months and it’s been quite an exciting ride! I haven’t posted as much recently because I was busily doing the holidays and getting ready for my other life. What other life you’re thinking? Well I retired from my career as a dermatologist in December 2018. Then my hubby and I bought a second home in LaQuinta, California which is near Palm Springs. So we winter in California because Mr. G.Q. absolutely hates any kind of cold weather☃️☃️☃️!
Now I know that sounds like a great idea given the Polar Vortex that Chicago experienced last year. And it is very fun to live in nice weather all the time. But the (first world) challenge in all this is I’m just learning how to navigate two households 🏡🏡 that just happen to be two thousand miles apart!! So that means we ship our cars 🚗 🚙 cross country and I use my car as a really big suitcase 🧳 to transfer my clothing to and fro. And of course Mr. G.Q. just tells me to duplicate my outfits but, he REALLY DOESN’T KNOW what goes into all the details, pieces, and accessories in a girl fashion blogger’s wardrobe!!!
Oh well, now that I’m in sunny California I’ll bring you up to speed on my projects out here. Stay tuned…

Here is a post on my New Year’s Eve outfit. We arrived on the 28th and unpacked my car on the 29th. We weren’t going to any place fancy because we were just looking for a nice early dinner at a cute local spot. I wore a black cashmere J.Crew v-neck boyfriend sweater (this season), black velvet AG skinny jeans, and black suede AGL booties (this season) with fun tassels on the back zipper.

My jewelry was a great statement necklace from J.Crew outlet that has multiple different colored stones in it. It lies flat on my neck and goes with many outfits. My earrings were cubic zirconium studs from my close friend Pattie who recently passed away. Whenever I wear something from her I feel closer to my friend.
My bracelet is amber colored glass links from Murano, Italy. I actually bought it many years ago in Paris. I love how it goes with my gold watch from Mr. G.Q., don’t you?

My purse is a black pebble leather crossbody purse from Coach (last year). I frequently fly with this purse because it’s big enough for my I.D.s, phone, and essentials but it’s small enough to be comfy as a crossbody when I sit in my seat on the plane ✈️.
I liked the dressy textures of the cashmere sweater, velvet jean, and suede boots. But the casual style of the items toned things down to a perfect level. The bling from the necklace struck just the right note for the last night of the decade!

Best wishes for a stellar 2020!
Same to you Jerry! And thanks for the cool calendar!
