What to Wear to a Casual Winter Party
I usually like wearing fun necklaces inside my blouses, but with this classic J.Crew black plaid button down blouse, I thought it looked sharper outside the collar. What do you think?
I paired it with this season’s beautiful black velvet blazer (also at Talbots). I usually wear a regular size 8 blazer but this ran long so I settled on an 8 petite. I love how luxurious the fabric feels and I know this will be a classic for years to come.
For my lower half I wore J.Jill dark-washed denim leggings (this season) and black leather riding boots (old from Lands End). I love the juxtaposition of velvet with denim. Festive and comfy. Lastly I wore a red fleece scarf from Lands End. In this outfit I wore the scarf draped around my neck. I also have another longer red fleece scarf that I bought this year on Amazon. It was almost the exact shade as this one in the picture but it is longer. I wear the longer one when I loop the scarf in a more elaborate knot.
