Even though my blog is Dr. Julie’s Fun and Full Life, overall I don’t usually like graphic tees. This one from J. Crew this season, however, is another story. I love the bright colors and I’m a fan of all things French! I think this top is VERY fun, so I had to get it! Here’s how to wear a graphic tee for women over 50!

How to Wear a Graphic Tee for Women over 50

I usually find graphic tees to be too distracting to look at, but part of the trick to pulling them off is to pair it with quieter pieces. I wore a grey J.Crew Factory outlet cardigan with the sleeves pushed up. Doing this really minimizes the “frump factor” that can happen with cardigans.

And then I wore last year’s khaki shorts from Talbot’s. I don’t think you can see the button detailing on the sides of the cuffs, but boy are they cute! And they don’t wrinkle much when driving around.

The tee states the days of the week in French and each one is in a different color. I believe the French don’t capitalize the days of the week, which is a fun fact to know. My cousin and good friend Mary Patt sent me this darling silk scarf last year. I believe it was from Ann Taylor and I think tying it French style is also fun, don’t you think? I couldn’t resist wearing it when the colors were so coordinated with the tee. And I could always wear it as a mask!

My sandals were nude Stuart Weitzman laser cut nubuck block-heeled sandals (old) which were neutral allowing the tee to be the star of this OOTD. Lastly, I wore grey pearl stud Talbots earrings which coordinated with my hair and the cardigan. I don’t wear a great deal of navy, but I think this could easily pair with white denim, jeans, or khaki. Navy, like black, white, and tan are all considered neutrals and pair with almost anything else. So stay tuned for a few more ideas in the upcoming weeks for my new graphic tee!

These photos were taken by my sweet friend Linda while her hubby Ron directed! We were in their gorgeous back yard (observing all social distancing) and we went out for a walk in their neighborhood, with our sweet pups.

Thanks for reading!
