Wondering What to Wear to Run Errands? I don’t know about you but if I look cute, I feel good. The other day I was running out to do a few quick errands. I had been working at some paperwork 😬, so I was wearing a J.Jill white reversible tank (back is u-shaped, front is v-necked), with a pair of Loft cuffed chinos, and a plaid (old) Hollister flannel shirt. Everything was comfy and conducive to sitting at my desk for several hours.

But when I needed to head out on this brisk afternoon I decided to step things up a notch by pulling on my new (this season), J.Jill maroon suede booties, with an old black puffer vest. I love the pop of color in these very comfortable block heeled booties and I alway think of a black puffer vest as a classic staple in my wardrobe as it adds a nice third layer and can look cute outdoors when cool or even inside.
I wore these great silver somewhat sparkly post earrings from Talbots. Talk about a find! I purchased these three pairs of fun earrings all together for less than $30! I love how neutral yet interesting they all are, don’t you? My friend Linda mentioned she doesn’t think of Talbots as a good source of jewelry, but I find they have great pieces as well as nice belts.
To add a bit more polish, I added a tiny pink toned beaded choker with a flat silver heart as well as a thin brown belt with a cool S-shaped fastener. As most of us age there is a tendency to downplay our waistline. I think however that soft belting can help to define our shape in a flattering way. Do you agree? I know it takes patience to sort out the right proportions, but I try and look at my outfit in a full length mirror to see what works.
So readers, did I get it right? Do you agree that the colored boots jazz things up? Tell me friends, what’s your go to look for running around town? Leave me a comment below. Thanks for reading What to Wear to Run Errands!!!
Hi. Cute look but I wonder about a brown belt with a black vest. Can’t see it to well in the picture. Thoughts?
I think it’s fine to mix leather colors. I think the brown looks softer against the pink plaid. And the maroon booties are a warm alternative to my usual go-to black booties. I think it’s fun to branch out from my usual black accessories.
What a difference that belt made to the whole outfit! Adorable as always.
Thanks Maureen! I agree! Belts can add punch to an outfit! Thanks for commenting!
I certainly agree that when you take that few minutes to pull yourself together that you feel good about yourself!
Love the booties!!!
I like to wear leggings with a tunic top and short boots this time of year. Love your boots!
