The other night Mr. G.Q. and I went to dinner at a great dinner spot in La Quinta, California. The restaurant is a bit pricy but the food and service are consistently great.

The cuisine is American and quite varied. There is a lovely wine list and many folks come to happy hour each night. Here’s our Dinner at Lavender Bistro.

Dinner at Lavender Bistro

The restaurant is just open for dinner and would definitely be described as “fine dining”. The wait staff wear dark purple shirts, the linen napkins are lavender and some of the outdoor fairy lights are lavender as well, thus the name.

There’s always live music outdoors on the patio and most nights inside too at the bar.

The outside patio is THE spot to be seen and to see. It’s a large, but still intimate dining area with many outdoor heaters and romantic lighting.

Even though there are numerous heaters, I would still recommend bringing a sweater or pashmina. Here I’m wearing a black wool one and it felt cozy.

My dress is a medium weight knit by J.McLaughlin (old). I love knits for their easy wearability as well as easy packing. With the dress I paired J.Jill black opaque tights, and black suede AGL booties. I love pairing black booties with black opaque tights as it looks so smooth and seamless.

My bracelet is a chunky pearl one layered over my usual stainless steel watch. Don’t you just love the pockets on this dress? I like how they blend into the dress, but are still there when you need them!

J.McLaughlin doesn’t carry a large line each season, but the pieces tend to be classic in their lines and their fabrics wash like a dream! Take a peak at them on-line to see if you agree. Let me know where else you like to shop for fun looks.

Thanks for checking out our Dinner at Lavender Bistro!

Happy First Tuesday in February!
