Introduction to White Jeans in Winter
In this post, I will show you three ways to wear white jeans in winter. Many of us are reluctant to wear white jeans in winter. This probably stems from the previous fashion rule that you couldn’t wear white denim until after Memorial Day. Well, that adage is no longer considered true. White denim offers a nice diversion from the typical blue jeans and black pants in winter.

In this winter white denim jean ensemble, I rolled the cuff of my white jeans (or these) above my honey-brown ankle booties. My ribbed black turtleneck has little gold buttons on the sleeve and I wore it under a black corduroy shacket. In case you are unfamiliar with the term shacket, it is a blend of a shirt and jacket. It kind of looks like a lumberjack style. I like this one for several reasons. The corduroy has a neat, interesting texture that I don’t often see in a jacket. Two, I like the solid black color, as it’s more versatile than a plaid version. Lastly, it was a great price!
For other accessories, I wore my favorite black Oakley sunglasses, and to coordinate with my brown booties, I added a brown cross-body bag. Pro tip: Black paired with brown is such a sophisticated color combination. Try pairing these two colors and see if you don’t get positive comments.
Style tip: This black corduroy jacket is heavy enough to look wintery, but is also thin enough to be worn front tucked in as a shirt (especially cute with distressed denim).

In this second white jean winter outfit, I paired a denim jacket in winter too. I made it look more wintery by pairing a pretty (and ruffled!) plaid flannel shirt under the jean jacket. I added a skinny leopard belt. Pro tip: leopard is considered neutral and I think it makes the white pants look more seasonal too. Again, I sported brown suede booties and the same brown cross-body bag as the first outfit.
I added diamond stud earrings, an amber-beaded choker, and a gold watch for the rest of my accessories. Pro tip: Diamond stud earrings work with ANY outfit. Seriously, they are a classic. Consider wearing costume studs (see links on the carousel below) as one really cannot tell from looking if yours are real or a great imitation. It’s all about the look! I love wearing casual denim with diamond studs. Try it! Pro tip: Wearing a little choker can set your outfit apart from an essential jacket, shirt, and jeans look. It’s a little detail that draws attention to your neckline and face.

In these last white jeans (or these) in my winter outfit, I wore a classic combination of black and white. I wore a black moto jacket over a black and white striped turtleneck. I kept the leopard belt for the second look, but this time I switched to a black pebbled leather Kate Spade large doctor’s bag.

My booties were still brown (coordinated with the belt) and this time I wore simple classic pearl stud earrings. Moto jackets, especially the vegan ones act more like a sweater in my wardrobe than as a true jacket. Pro tip: Thus, if I were truly experiencing cold winter weather, I would finish this outfit with a black wool or tan camel’s hair overcoat and black gloves.

Oh, to wear tops tucked in again. Those days are gone for me but they look fabulous on you.
Joanie, I hear you! A great tummy trick is to wear a belt at your waist but wear it OVER your shirt. Then blouse the shirt a bit. This gives you a waist without having to tuck in a shirt! Let me know if it works for you!
