Here in sunny California it’s HOT! For the past week and at least the next seven days the temperature will get to 109 degrees at the highest with the lowest “high” being 98! Yikes! I AM NOT A HOT WEATHER GIRL!!! Mr. G.Q. keeps trying to tell me it’s a “dry heat” and my response is, “so is an oven, but I don’t get into that!”!

That said, we’ve had extraordinarily temperate weather (besides this current exception) since our arrival in late December. The real hassle is I’m not an early riser (with retirement from my medical practice), so I have to force myself to get up and outdoors early to beat the intense heat while I walk each day. I know, this is definitely a first-world problem…

The fun news though, is now I can show you some of my spring/summer looks, many of which were purchased right before we started “sheltering in place”. Today’s look is a simple red-flowered tee shirt from Loft and is called “Vintage Soft”. It is soft and the color is vibrant. To keep it that way, I plan to wash it inside out and on cold water. Lastly because I love the fit, I will hang it to dry.

Red Flowered Tee with White Shorts

My shorts are from last year and are the “Bermuda short” from White House, Black Market. My sandals are black leather flip flop style from Cole Hahn. I usually prefer sandals with a heel strap as I find them much easier for walking, but since I was just hanging out in my courtyard, not much walking was happening.

My necklace is an old multiple stranded silver beaded one from Evereve and although it looks heavy, it’s very lightweight. My earrings are small silver and pearl drop one that aren’t too busy. I think in most looks it’s best to have one piece be the star and in this case that would be the red flowered tee. I love soft florals most of the year and I especially love bright prints in the spring and summer. How about you, lovely readers? What are some of your “go to” favorites for the warmer weather? Also for those of you who don’t like shorts, white cropped jeans or full length ones would b a great alternative.

Happy Spring Weekend!!! I hope you enjoyed this Red Flowered Tee with White Shorts post.

XO

Dr. Julie
